ABOUT THE HOME

Autumn Lodge Residential Care Home is registered for nineteen elderly clients, and can

accept people with mild to moderate dementia and those who require help with day to day

personal care, such as washing, bathing, medication and mobility needs.

The Home has been established for over 30 years, and the present owner Mrs Sandra

Daniells RGN, who took it over in 2009. It is one of the few smaller family run homes in the

area, which means that it can still provide the personal touch, often lacking in the larger

corporate run establishments. There is a close knit and dedicated team of staff, headed up

by Nicky Hunt the Registered Manager who has many years of experience in care of the

elderly.

Autumn Lodge is a detached property on two levels with parking outside and a pleasant

garden where residents may sit in the summer months. All of the bedrooms are regularly

refurbished and all have an ensuite toilet, some have bath or shower too.

There is an assisted communal bathroom on both levels, so as to enable all residents to be

able to to enjoy a bath or shower with assistance from our trained carers.

Bedrooms vary in size and outlook and this may be reflected in the price but all are regularly

redecorated and re carpeted to ensure the highest standards of quality are maintained.

Residents may bring their own furniture in if they so wish.

The lounge at Autumn Lodge is spacious and light having recently had an extension to

improve residents’ communal space. It now has doors which open out on to the garden.

There is a small tea station where relatives may help themselves to tea and coffee while

visiting their family.

Activities play a big part in the daily life of Autumn Lodge. A dedicated activity co-ordinator

is employed and there are also regular outside activities coming in to the home, such as the

very popular gardening club, music and movement, and physiotherapy, amongst others.

Our dining room is separate from the lounge and is a pleasant and attractive area for

residents to enjoy home cooked meals amongst the company of others if they so wish.

Meals are all cooked fresh on the premises by our own chefs, and we provide a balanced

and nutritious range of meals, but always with residents’ individual preferences being taken

into account.

The dining room has a WC off of it for convenience of our residents.

The home is well equipped with a passenger lift, hoist and An Arjo Stedy to assist those

with mobility problems. Our carers all receve regular training in all aspects of personal care,

health and safety, manual handing, fire safety, nutirion and dementia awareness amongst

others.

The Manager

Nicola Hunt Registered Manager holds an NVQ 4 Registered Managers Award and has many

years of experience in the care sector. She has been in post at Autumn Lodge since 2010.

The Owner

Sandra Daniells is a qualified nurse, and has owned and managed care homes since 1985.
